- This closed system to explain what self-esteem is and how it is developed
is called a "cognitive/behavioral" approach. Using knowledge gained
from this book and from other psychology and music therapy courses, explain
what the terms cognitive, behavioral, and cognitive/behavioral mean. Cite
points of view which are basic to this closed system and points of view which
are excluded from this closed system.
- Describe how the pathological critic effects the internal and external behavior
of you yourself or of someone well known to you.
- How does "a commitment to accuracy" (end of Chapter 4) tie in
with taking a data-based approach to therapy?
- How does the technique for identifying and dealing with cognitive distortions
relate to the hypothetical mode of inquiry?

you personally and describe its impact.
