Academic Common Market

for

Music Therapy Majors

The Academic Common Market is a program of the Southern Regional Education Board. Through participation in this program, music therapy majors at the University of Alabama who are residents of Arkansas, Louisianna, South Carolina, or Tennessee may attend UA paying in-state tuition rates. This is not a loan or payback program. Further information and application instructions are available on the UA web site. Receiving this waiver of out-of-state tuition requires meeting the following criteria:

  1. Full acceptance to the University of Alabama (application information)
  2. Full acceptance, documented by a letter from the Director of the Music Therapy program, to the School of Music (audition information)
  3. For first-time ACM certification, you must have at least a 25 ACT composite score or 1130 SAT composite score (math and verbal only), plus at least a 3.00 overall high school GPA.
  4. For continuing certification after the first semester of ACM support, you must maintain at least a 3.00 overall GPA on all UA course work attempted
  5. You must remain a Music Therapy major.
  6. You must make satisfactory progress toward your degree.

Participation in the Academic Common Market is available to entering freshmen, transfers in good standing, and equivalency students.
